Gramin Dak Sevak — Branch Postmaster (BPM) / Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak

GDS holders are civil posts but explicitly outside the regular Civil Services — governed by the GDS (Conduct & Engagement) Rules, 2020, not Article 309. They work a minimum 4 to maximum 5 hours a day and cannot continue past age 65. Selected BPMs must arrange and fund their own premises for the Branch Post Office and reside in that village; ABPMs and Dak Sevaks must reside within their office's delivery jurisdiction. No documents are uploaded at application stage — only a photo and signature — with full document verification happening later, in person, after shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates get 15 days to report for verification and 30 days after the provisional offer to complete joining formalities (including 3 days of basic training); missing either deadline cancels the candidature automatically. The engagement process for this cycle closes entirely after 31 Dec 2026.

Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) at indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement using an active mobile number and email (both OTP-verified) → log in → select Circle/Division → choose post preferences (only one post will ultimately be offered, even if you qualify for several) → upload photo (JPG, 30–100KB, 4:5 ratio) and signature (JPG, 20–100KB, 5:2 ratio) → preview carefully → pay ₹100 fee if not exempt → submit before 21 Sep 2026, 5 PM. A correction window opens 23–24 Sep 2026 for fixing errors (fee-affecting changes require re-payment).
