The Central Silk Board (CSB) is a statutory body set up in 1948 by an Act of Parliament, under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is the apex national organisation for the development of the silk sector. CSB engages technical and supporting staff on contract to meet urgent operational needs. These engagements are temporary and do not count as regular government employment.
CSB needs 7 Sericulture Assistants on contract for one year for CSB-CMER&TI and its units, selected through interview.
Key conditions:
- The cut-off date for age, qualification and eligibility is 26-10-2026.
- Candidates can give three preferred locations, but CSB decides the final posting on merit, vacancies and administrative needs.
- Selected persons will assist the Senior Technical Assistants at CSB Institutes and Units and will not be attached to any specific project.
- The engagement is for one year at most. It gives no right to regularisation, absorption or continuation.
- Candidates attend the interview at their own cost. No TA/DA, lodging or boarding is paid.
- Bring original certificates and identity proof to the interview.
- Incomplete applications are rejected. Information cannot be added after submission.
- Use a correct and working email ID. CSB is not responsible for failed or late emails.
- Canvassing disqualifies a candidate.
- Vacancies may increase or decrease, and CSB may cancel or modify the engagement without giving reasons.
- Any corrigendum will appear on csb.gov.in or cmerti.res.in.

3. Mention up to three preferred posting locations: Jorhat, Boko (Kamrup) or Ahmedabad.
4. Attach self-attested copies of certificates and send or submit the application as the notice instructs, on or before 26-10-2026.
5. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. Bring original documents.
