WO (Operation Theatre Technician), 1 post / WO (Physiotherapist), 2 posts: 12th + 2-year relevant Diploma + 1 year experience in a recognised 50-bed hospital/centre

Havildar (Instrument Mechanic), 6 posts: Matric + 2-year ITI or 2/3-year Diploma in Instrument/Electronic Mechanic or Technology

Rifleman technical trades: Matric + 2-year ITI or 2/3-year Diploma in the relevant trade: Electrical Fitter Signal (32), Lineman Field (21), Armourer (29), Engineer Equipment Mechanic (10), Recovery Vehicle Mechanic (13, relevant qualification and/or HMV licence), Electrician Motor Vehicle (22), Metalsmith (19), Upholster (3), Vehicle Mechanic (23), Welder (2)

Rifleman (Store Keeper Technical EME), 16 posts: Matriculation

Rifleman (Mason), 29 posts: Matriculation + qualify the Trade Test + 1 year self-certified work experience

Chest: General: 80/85 cm. Assam/NE etc.: 78/83 cm. ST: 76/81 cm.

PET: 5 km run in 24 minutes (qualifying)

Selection process: PST → PET → Documentation → Computer Based Test (100 marks) → Trade Skill Test (qualifying) → Document Verification → Medical Examination → Final merit list

CBT qualifying marks: General/EWS: 35%; SC/ST/OBC: 33%

Application fee: UR/OBC/EWS: ₹100. SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen: Nil.

The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong has announced the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 for 354 Group C posts across 17 trades. There are 219 Rifleman posts, 129 Warrant Officer posts and 6 Havildar posts. The largest single trade is Warrant Officer (Cipher) with 124 vacancies. Others include Electrical Fitter Signal, Lineman Field, Armourer, Vehicle Mechanic, Mason, Welder, Draughtsman, Physiotherapist and Operation Theatre Technician. The posts are open to male Indian citizens with the prescribed educational, technical and physical qualifications. Candidates must apply for the trade that matches their qualification and category. The State/UT and domicile entered in the application cannot be changed later. Name and date of birth must match the Matriculation certificate. The recruitment rally is tentatively scheduled from 23 November 2026, and reporting dates for PST/PET will be announced. Shortlisting for document verification and medical examination is expected at about four times the vacancies in each trade/category.

Choose your trade and category after checking the qualification and age for that trade 4. Enter your name and date of birth exactly as on the Matriculation certificate 5. Select your State/UT and domicile carefully, as it cannot be changed later 6. Upload the required certificates and documents 7. Pay the ₹100 fee online if applicable (SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen are exempt) 8. Review the form, submit by 28 October 2026, 11:59 PM, and print a copy for the rally Documents to carry to the rally: Matriculation certificate, 12th/ITI/Diploma/Degree certificates, PRC/domicile certificate, caste/EWS certificate, fee receipt (if paid by challan), HMV licence (for Recovery Vehicle Mechanic) and experience certificates where required. Departmental candidates need an NOC from their Commanding Officer.
