Job Description: Project Coordinator Shishu Sarothi, Centre for Rehabilitation and Training for Multiple Disability, a non-profit organization in the Northeast region of India since 1987, works in the area of education, training and manpower development, early intervention and rehabilitation, livelihood and protection of rights of persons with disabilities.
Qualification: MA/MSW Experience of minimum 3 years. Knowledge of the disability sector will be an added advantage.
The Project Coordinator (PC) is expected to have an idea of the scenario of disability related services and organisations in the region and for the purpose of this project the PC will have to • Identify NGOs, Government organisations and other services available in NE India that offer services for persons with disabilities, and contact them for collecting data and information on the nature of services provided and perceived needs of children/persons with disabilities in the region. • Work closely with the Executive Director (ED) and designated consultant, to design and operate a survey plan along with research associates, and make necessary arrangements for the same. • Collaborate with local NGOs and conduct 5 state level consultations with local NGOs and stakeholders to assess the existing ground realities of services available and the needs of persons with disabilities. • Arrange to conduct a Regional level Consultation with invited experts and other stakeholders and facilitate the process of drawing up a Strategic Plan for Shishu Sarothi. • Assist the ED in identifying and establishing contact with leading experts in disability sector and other domains, to assess and review of policies and SOPs and technical aspects of the work – therapy, early intervention, education, community based rehabilitation; drafting and operationalising policies and SOPs as per best practices across all domains of SS after reflection workshops with team members. • Engage with experts identified and enlisted by ED to appraise existing capabilities of staff and assess the training needs of the team members. • Plan and execute the training programs and workshops of the staff members with a view to creating a cadre of trained staff to manage the RRCD. • Arrange and organise exposure visits for staff members across all domains, to centres of excellence; nominate team members for leadership development programs. • Organise annual staff retreats in consultation with the ED and others.
