Job Description: Dhriiti (www.dhriiti.com) is seeking a Hub Manager to manage the micro entrepreneurs and manage the Hub unit of Project Pragati – a women led micro entrepreneurship initiative in rural Assam. The objective of the Project is to create empowered communities led by women micro- entrepreneurs in Chhaygaon Area of Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam through entrepreneurship & livelihood generation from arecanut leaf plate manufacturing. The Project is designed and implemented by Dhriiti and is funded by Interglobe Foundation. All candidates must be able to work with multi-locational teams and be willing to travel as per the needs of the organization. The Organization Dhriiti is a non-profit organization working towards inspiring entrepreneurship, incubating impactful entrepreneurs and transforming communities for the past 12 years. Dhriiti was founded by three management graduates to tackle the problem of unemployment and underemployment and offer entrepreneurship as a respectable career/livelihood option. Since inception, Dhriiti has reached out to more than 10,000 youth directly and has partnered with more than 50 organizations to create impact. Dhriiti has been supported by the government, private foundations, corporate bodies and individuals. The Project The project envisions to create empowered communities led by women micro-entrepreneurs in Chhaygaon Area of Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam through entrepreneurship & livelihood generation from arecanut leaf plate manufacturing. In this project a cluster of women owned and run arecanut leaf plate manufacturing units will be created. They would be trained and supported to establish the units and linked with the market for sale of plates produced. Finally, a producer institution would be created for sustainable operations beyond the project period. The Project is supported by Interglobe Foundation. The project is aimed at addressing the problems faced by women in rural NE with regards to finding sustainable livelihood opportunities and also finding social business opportunities which will help women to raise their standard of living and generating a viable source of income. The Hub unit in the project, would act as atraining unit for the micro-entreprenuers. It will be strategically loacted in Chaigaon, which will also be close to the clusters. The hub unit will also have the common infrastructure to be utilised during the project period. It will also have facilities to provide financial information and procurement services to the micro-entreprenuers. The Position Key Responsibilities Include: I. Managing the hub unit a. Coordinating the day to day official activities in the hub unit b. Managing the raw material processing in the hub unit ensuring a balance between quality and quantity of raw materials c. Coordination of the packaging logistics and ensuring consistent and efficient quality control of the produced plates II. Incubation and handholding support to micro entrepreneurs a. Supporting the rural micro entrepreneurs along with the social mobiliser, in improving the raw material collection for their unit b. Supporting the rural micro entrepreneurs, along with the social mobiliser in improving the efficiency and quality of the production. c. Supporting the packaging team to ensure the quality and quantity of the products. III. Coordination of trainings, exposure visits and awareness camps a. Organise exposure visits and awareness meetings in the villages b. Support the team in implementing the trainings. c. Coordination of exposure visits, awareness meetings and trainings IV. Preparation of training manuals and IEC materials a. Support the senior management team in preparing training manuals and IEC materials for the project. V. Project coordination & management a. Coordination with the Program Manager and team for the smooth implementation of the project b. Maintaining the program MIS c. Preparing short term and long term plans in consultation with Program Manager Required Competencies Core Competencies I. Communication: ? Facilitates and encourages open communication; ? Education: ? Bachelors in Arts, Social Sciences, Social Work ? Masters in Arts, Social Sciences, Social Work VIII. Experience: ? A minimum of 1 year’s of experience in developmental sector for the bachelor degree holders IX. Language Requirements: ? Fluency in English and Assamese (both oral and written) is required. Compensation: The compensation for the above mentioned position would be Rs. 1.20 lacs lacs per annum. The incumbent will be eligible for a variable performance bonus at the end of the financial year based on the performance.
