Job Description: Job opening for the post of Project Coordinator for Project MITA (Mental Illness Treatment in Assam) the ant (the action northeast trust) Base: Rowmari, north of Chapaguri, Chirang (BTAD), Assam. Application Deadline: 11/03/2018
Background of the ant: the ant is a voluntary organization (www.theant.org) that works at two levels, directly at grassroots for furthering the pace of development in villages mainly falling under BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) in Assam, and at a higher level whereby it carries out capacity building training and networks with other institutions for advocacy. Brief about the project MITA: MITA is acronym of Mental Illness Treatment in Assam started by the ant Chirang. The project is a sustainable and scalable model of providing low-cost quality medical treatment for mentally ill patients in remote areas through our partner NGOs.
Qualifications: Graduates or Post Graduates preferably in Psychology /Social Work. Other graduates can also apply if they have previous experience of working in mental health projects or as a counsellor. *Freshers with passion to work in mental health can also apply.
Skills: • Candidates should have good communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work in a multi-cultural environment • Report writing in English • Leadership and administrative/ management along with problem solving skills • Any previous formal or informal experience of counselling • Knowledge of local language will be added advantage Core Competencies: • Demonstrates/safeguards ethics and integrity • Works as a team member • Facilitates and encourages open communication in the team. • Self-development, initiative-taking Work profile: • Coordinator has to communicate with various stakeholders involved in the project. • Develop and maintain systems to organize, maximize, and facilitate access to project documentation. • Manage various issues related to camps at multiple sites. • Work on implementation of various plans/ideas of project. • Shares knowledge across the organization and builds a culture of knowledge sharing and learning • Coordinate along with Project head, consultant psychiatrist to decide and work on various strategies of project. • Coordinate with Project Head to train the NGO staff. • Manage and plan various events related to project. • Candidates should be willing to work hard, travel and work along with various MITA partners across Assam with limited resources situated in low income communities (Approximately 50% work will be at central site and remaining days the coordinator have to travel and visit various project sites)
