Applications are invited in the prescribed proforma from the candidates residing in Delhi and NCR area who are interested in doing the job of English Newsreader and Newsreader-cum-Translator (Indian Languages ) in Sanskrit, Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya, Arunachali, Nepali and Malayalam languages on casual assignment basis in News Services Division, All India Radio, New Delhi .
Essential Qualification: The applicant should be Graduate from a recognized university and has suitable voice to broadcast.
Desirable Qualification: (i) Should be familiar with computer. (ii) Experience of journalistic work in Radio/TV
Age : The maximum age limit is 21 to 50 years as on 31.12.2010.
The applicant may note that working on casual assignment basis for NSD: AIR will not confer any right for regularization of services in this organization. The booking will be offered from time to time on the basis of the requirements of the organization and will not normally exceed six days in a month.
A non-refundable processing fee of Rs.300/- for General Category and Rs.225/- for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be charged. The bank draft in favour of Director General(News), AIR, New Delhi payable at New Delhi may be sent alongwith the application.
There would be a combined written test for the empanelment of Newsreader-cum-Translator in Sanskrit, Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Oriya, Arunachali, Nepali and Malayalam languages to judge the knowledge of language, translation ability and knowledge of current affairs. The answer will be given in the respective language.
For English Newsreader, the written test will judge the knowledge of language, general knowledge and current affairs.
Candidates securing 50% and above marks will be called for audition/voice test. Those securing 50 per cent or more marks in the audition/voice test will be called for the interview before being placed on the panel.
The list of eligible candidates and the date of written test and venue will be put up on the NSD: AIR website “www.newsonair.com” All the applicants are requested to constantly check the website on regular basis after 16th May 2011. No call letter will be delivered to the candidates for the written examination and audition/voice test.
The result of the written test as well as date of voice test of those who qualify in the written test will he put on the website. The final result will be available on the NSD: AIR website www.newsonair.com
Application should reach to the Deputy Director of Administration, News Services Division, All India Radio, New Broadcasting House, Parliament Street, New Delhi 110 001 before 10th May 2011. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed with “Application for casual English Newsreader or Newsreader cum Translator (Indian Language) in NSD: AIR on assignment basis.”
